What is an NFC memory print?
Updated · by the CuzIt'sMemorable studio, Jaipur
An NFC memory print is a physical photo with a tiny NFC tag on the back. Tap the print with a phone and it opens a memory page: the song from that night, more photos, a voice note and a written note. No app is needed, and the tag needs no battery.
How does an NFC photo print work?
- A small NFC sticker on the back of the print stores one short web address.
- Holding a phone near it makes the phone read that address and open it.
- The address opens the memory page for that print: song, photos, video, voice note and note.
- The memory lives online, so it can be updated without touching the print.
Which phones can read NFC prints?
Most Android phones read NFC tags when NFC is switched on in settings. iPhones from the iPhone XS onwards read them automatically when the screen is on. A phone without NFC can open the same memory from its link, which can also be printed as a QR code.
What does the NFC tag actually store?
Only a short web address. A standard NTAG213 sticker holds 144 bytes and our addresses use about 40 of them, so the scan is fast. Photos, songs and voice notes are stored online, not on the tag.
Do I need an app to open a memory print?
No. Tapping or scanning opens the memory in the phone's browser. The free CuzIt'sMemorable app adds a Memories shelf that keeps every print you've opened.
